Tuscany Wedding Venues
Tuscany wedding venues
We are Katja & Simon, destination wedding photographers and guides, traveling the world to capture beautiful wedding stories.
One of our favourite parts of the world is Tuscany, Italy. Cities like Florence, Siena, San Gimignano are breathtaking with all the history behind them.

But one of our favourite thing about Tuscany is the landscape and the energy. We could drive around for hours, just watching how the landscape changes on every corner, getting more and more beautiful. For us, time stops here, there is a peaceful energy in the air and you have to stop to enjoy the view, soak up the sun, drink that glass of wine.
That is why we feel Tuscany is one of the best places to get married in the world. You probably already decided you want to get married in Tuscany, but have no idea where to start?
Well, from our experience the best place to start is finding your dream venue. Once you find what you are looking for, you can book your date. Then you can start with other important things like catering (if not already offered at the venue), photographer & videographer, music and decoration…
We have photographed numerous weddings in Tuscany and we have seen our share of beautiful places. In this article we will share our favourite 50 venues, that we feel are worth looking at.
Things To Consider When Looking At Tuscan Wedding Venues
Now, before you start looking at the beautiful venues, there are a few things you should consider first. This is a list of questions you should ask yourself, so you will know what to look for in a venue:
- Will all guests be staying at the same place? Is there extra accommodation available nearby for other guests?
- How easy is it to get to the venue? Will the guests need an organised transportation?
- Are we getting married in a church or town hall? Do we need the venue to be nearby?
- Does the venue have an indoor space for the ceremony and reception in case it rains?
- Are we allowed to choose our own wedding planner and vendors?
- Is there a restaurant on-site, or does the venue provide catering?
- Are there any music or other restrictions?

You’ve Found your Wedding Venue. What’s next?
If you’ve found your perfect wedding venue, but haven’t booked yet, now is the time to do it. Tuscany is one of the most popular destinations for weddings in the world and some venues are booked solid up to 2 years in advance. So go ahead and reach out to the venue and ask them for their open dates and pricing packages.
If you already have a date set, then it’s time for the next thing on the list: “Will we be planning and coordinating ourselves, or do we want a planner to do it for us?”
From our experience, hiring a planner will save you a lot of time and sometimes also money. Quite often they are able to offer discounts for other vendors they work with regularly. And you don’t have to worry about the language barrier, most of the wedding planners speak great English, so you don’t have to bother with Italian.
Finding a great wedding photographer is probably the next thing on your to-do list. You’ll also want to book a photographer you really like around a year before the wedding (sometimes even more). Remember, your wedding photos are the only thing that is left for years to come (and your wedding rings too). So choosing a great photographer who’s work you love should be your priority.
