Umbria Wedding Venues

Welcome!

We are Katja & Simon, destination wedding photographers and guides, traveling the world to capture beautiful wedding stories.

Umbria is one of our favourite parts of Italy. Why? Because it’s almost like Tuscany, but with much less tourists and weddings are a bit more accessible. You could say Umbria is Italy’s best kept secret.

Tuscany Wedding Venues

We feel Umbria is one of the best places to get married in the world. You probably already decided you want to get married there, but have no idea where to start?

How to start planning your dream wedding in Umbria?

From our experience the number one thing on your to-do list is finding your dream venue. Once you have a few places in mind, you can ask for pricing and availability and eventually book your date.

During our career we have photographed numerous weddings in Umbria and we have seen our share of beautiful places.  We created this article to help you out when you search for your dream wedding venue. Below you will find a list of top 30 Umbria wedding venues, that are also our favourites.

But first, here are some things To Consider When Looking At Umbria Wedding Venues

Before you start looking at these beautiful wedding venues, there are a few things you should know before. This is a list of questions you should ask yourself, when you search for your dream location:

  1. Will all guests be staying at the same place?
  2. Is there extra accommodation available nearby for other guests?
  3. How easy is it to get to the venue?
  4. Does the venue have an indoor space for the ceremony and reception in case it rains?
  5. Will the guests need an organised transportation?
  6. Is there a restaurant on-site, or does the venue provide catering?
  7. Are we getting married in a church or town hall?
  8. Do we need the venue to be nearby?
  9. Are we allowed to choose our own wedding planner and vendors?
  10. Are there any restrictions?

Congrats, you’ve Found your Wedding Venue.
What’s next?

Now that you’ve found your perfect wedding venue, it’s time to book it. The most popular venues are booked solid up to 2 years in advance, so don’t wait too long. Go ahead and reach out to the venue and ask them for their open dates and pricing packages.

If you already have a date set, then it’s time for the next thing on the list: decide whether you will hire a wedding planner to organise everything for your wedding, or will you do it on your own.

Finding a great wedding photographer is probably the next thing on your to-do list. Remember, your wedding photos are the only thing that is left for decades to come (and your wedding rings too). So choosing a great photographer who’s work you love should be your priority.
