Should I Have My Entire Wedding at the Same Location?

As professional photographers, we’ve done it all – from weddings in 4 different locations with over 3 hours of driving in between, to relaxed weddings at private villas where everyone stayed for the whole weekend.

One thing we realized after doing so many weddings is that having everything at the same location saves everyone a lot of time. No need to go back and forth from one place to another. And saving time is not the only good thing about it.

There are some other reasons why you should consider having your wedding all in one location:

Why having entire wedding at one location

Choosing wedding location

1. Less Planning and Coordination

Using different locations can be a logistical challenge, especially if they are not close to one another. And it’s not just the two of you who will need to move around – you’ll need to plan for your guests too.

We’ve seen people get lost on their way to church and miss the ceremony. We’ve even seen people miss a few hours of the wedding because the road was closed, or an accident occurred.

Having everything in one place means you and your guest can even arrive the day before, get ready in peace and spend more time together on your wedding day.

2. You Save Money

If you have multiple locations planned, you can hire a bus or another form of transportation to make sure everyone makes it on time, but this will increase your bill. Having everything in one place can eliminate that expense altogether.

And because you’re hiring only one location, you’re more likely to get a better deal – booking one venue is always cheaper than booking two or three different ones.

3. Keep Everyone Together

There’s a reason your guests are invited to your wedding. Do you really want to spend a good chunk of your day running around in a car or do you want to spend more quality time with your guests and enjoy their company?

4. Less Coverage for People You Hired

Vendors like wedding photographers, videographers, musicians, etc. usually charge by hours of coverage. Not having to drive around will reduce the number of hours and free up your budget so you can invest more into capturing your special moments instead of spending money on gas.

5. A Relaxed Atmosphere

When your guests know they won’t have to drive around, they can relax and have a guilt-free drink or two and enjoy your day with you.

With everything we mentioned, are you still thinking of doing your wedding in multiple locations or are you already dreaming of having everything at the same venue?
